(Undated) — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ State Park Passport is back for 2024. Julie Tack is with the Iowa DNR…
“The Iowa State Park Passport is an online program that people can download onto their mobile device and it’s a fun, interactive way for people to visit Iowa state parks and keep track of the parks they visit while earning prizes.”
There’s also information available about hidden gems in each park…
“One of the things that we’re really excited about with our passport is we have had our park staff pick what we are calling a hidden gem within each park so it might be a trail you can visit, it might be a geological rock formation, it might be a scenic overlook.”
Tack says the passport is easy to download…at the DNR’s website…
“The easiest way is to just go to the Iowa DNR website. If you go to Iowadnr.gov/stateparks and on that page you can click on a link that takes you to our passport page and it provides all the details on how to sign up. It’s really, really easy to download it onto your mobile device and you’re ready to go.”
Each state park has a certain number of points visitors can earn by going to the park. You can find more information about the State Park Passport Program at https://www.iowadnr.gov/Places-to-Go/State-Parks
