(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments on its Lake Restoration program. The report highlights restoration projects completed around Iowa in the 2025 fiscal year and outlines plans for upcoming projects.
Major projects completed in 2025 include an investment of nearly a million dollars at the Iowa Great Lakes to assess shoreline damage from the 2024 floods. Major projects planned for 2026 include shoreline stabilization projects at the Iowa Great Lakes to address flood damage. Another project planned for northwest Iowa in 2026 includes a shallow lake and wetland restoration project at Little Storm Lake in Buena Vista county.
