(Windom, MN) — An Iowa company is planing to reopen a southern Minnesota pork processing plant next year. Premium Iowa Pork purchased the former HyLife plant in Windom earlier this year for 14-million dollars.
The company said in a statement that it is removing old equipment and modernizing the operation. About a thousand workers were let go when the plant shut down last summer.
A spokesman for the City of Windom says the plant is expected to reopen sometime between April and June.
