Investigations Turn Up No Additional Signs Of Zebra Mussels In IGL

(Spirit Lake)– Officials remain cautiously optimistic after additional investigations and samplings turned up no evidence of additional zebra mussels in the Iowa Great Lakes. Officials became concerned over the potential of an infestation after a lone juvenile zebra mussel was found in early September on a sampling plate on the lower chain of lakes.
