(Algona)– An investigation into a disturbance February 20th in Swea City has resulted in an arrest.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says the incident involved an intoxicated individual possibly in possession of a firearm. The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Michael Hammond of Swea City. Authorities say Hammond was uncooperative with them when they made contact with him at his residence.
After gathering more information and learning that a firearm had been discharged during the February 20th incident, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant this past Monday, February 24th, on Hammond’s residence. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest warrant for Hammond was also obtained. He was taken into custody and was booked into jail on charges of going armed with intent, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault while displaying a weapon and domestic assault 2nd offense.
Authorities say a no-contact order has been issued to protect the victim.
