Investigation Into Suspicious Activity Results In Arrests Of Teens On Drug Charges

November 22, 2014

(Sioux Rapids)– An investigation into suspicious activity Friday evening along a Clay county road resulted in the arrests of two teens on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy saw two males come out of a ditch on county road B-63 and then saw a car pull over in front of them. The deputy conducted a check on the juveniles and upon making contact with the driver, smelled marijuana. A subsequent investigation resulted in the deputy finding what’s alleged to be marijuana in the purse of the driver, 18-year-old Elizabeth Oliverson of Sioux Rapids. Oliverson was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor. She was released after posting a $300 cash or surety bond.

A 15-year-old juvenile female from Sioux Rapids was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana…a serious misdemeanor. She was released to the custody of her mother.
