(Spirit Lake)– An investigation Wednesday evening into a report of suspicious people at a residence on the northwest side of West Lake Okoboji resulted in the arrests of four people, all of them from Sioux City.

A criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says authorities were called to an address on Bayside Drive shortly after 8:00 pm after a neighbor noticed activity at the house where no one was supposed to be. Authorities contacted the homeowner who confirmed that was the case, and gave law enforcement permission to enter. Deputies knocked on the door but no one answered. Once entrance WAS made they found four people inside and found drug paraphernalia and controlled substances in plain view where the suspects had been hiding.

The complaint states that deputies found about 30 grams of what’s believed to be methamphetamine, 18 yellow pills believed to be ecstasy weighing about 12 grams, 30 blue “M30” pills believed to be fentanyl weighing about 11.8 grams, and a scale with residue on it.

The complaint goes on to say that some of the drugs had been packaged into smaller bags including one with .87 grams of methamphetamine and another with 9 “M30” pills in it. Deputies also reported finding small plastic bags in a vehicle after they obtained a search warrant on it.

25-year-old David Reyes and 29-year-old Nathan Franklin were both charged with trespassing, 1st offense; 3 counts each of a controlled substance violation and three counts each of failure to affix a drug tax stamp. Franklin was additionally charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two others, 33-year-old Elizabeth Frazier and 31-year-old Rainey Peterson, were charged with trespassing, 1st offense.

Reyes and Franklin remain in the Dickinson county jail; Peterson and Frazier have since been released after posting bond.
