Investigation Into Erratic Driving Complaint Results In Drug Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)—What started out as investigation into a complaint of erratic driving led to the arrests of two Spencer residents on drug charges.

Spencer police say an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported as being driven erratically. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrests of 19-year-old Elisha Howe and 18-year-old Dante Putnam…both of Spencer. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…with intent to deliver.

Police say an additional charge of interference was filed against Putnam when he attempted to flee on foot. He was taken into custody a short distance away.

Both suspects were booked into the Clay county jail.
