Investigation Into A Fight At A Bar Lands Estherville Man In Jail On Multiple Drug Charges

(Estherville)– What started very early this (Fri.) morning as an investigation into a fight at an Estherville bar ended in the arrest of a man on multiple drug charges.

Estherville police say they were called to the scene around 12:18 am and upon arriving learned that one of the suspects had left. Through an investigation they were able to identify the suspect as Mitchell McCombs of Estherville. Officers went to McCombs’ residence but he refused to come to the door. Police then obtained a search warrant for the residence and made entry, detaining McCombs. Officers discovered drug paraphernalia and could smell burnt marijuana. They then obtained and executed an additional search warrant resulting in them finding additional drug paraphernalia, illegal narcotics and prescription medications, along with three firearms.

McCombs was arrested and booked into jail on charges of disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault causing bodily injury, possession of a controlled substance…psilocybin, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, and possession of prescription drugs…2nd offense. McCombs was also charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…3rd or subsequent offense, possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense…cocaine, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of prescription drugs with intent to deliver.
