(Spencer)– An internal candidate will interview for the position of president of Spencer Hospital. Brenda Tiefenthaler currently serves as the hospital’s Vice President of Patient Care and Operations. She will interview on August 21st in a closed session of the Spencer Hospital Board of Trustees. She will also meet with other groups that day including the hospital’s medical staff and members of the leadership team.
The search process is being led by WittKieffer, a nationally recognized firm. Hospital Board Chair Julie Christensen says over 35 candidates from around the country applied for the position. The search committee narrowed the field to 12 for future consideration and conducted preliminary interviews with five candidates. Christensen says two other candidates, in addition to Tiefenthaler, are still in the running.
Whoever’s selected will succeed Bill Bumgarner, who will be retiring at the end of the year.
