Cool temperatures and light winds prevailed, as The Okoboji Yacht Club hosted The Inland Lakes Yachting Association (ILYA) Championships, with four classes of scow sailors competing in the regatta over the last two weeks on West Lake Okoboji in the Iowa Great Lakes.
Top sailors include the Blanchard/Burdick team of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in the Class “A” sailboats.
In the “E” Class, it was Erik Bowers of Minnetonka taking the top prize.
Class “C” top honors went to Steve Schmidt of Okauchee, Wisconsin, while in the “MC” Class, Mark Christensen led the pack, closely followed by Okoboji’s Steve Everist.
Inland scow sailors from as far away as New Jersey competed in the regatta.
