(Spencer)– A public informational open house on plans by the Iowa Department of Transportation to construct a roundabout at the north junction of Highways 71 and 18 in Spencer, or the North Y, will be held Monday, July 7th. The session was originally planned for April but was postponed due to threatening weather at that time. Those with questions or concerns about the project can show up anytime that evening between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at the Spencer City Hall. D.O.T representatives will be on hand.
Current plans call for construction to start in the spring of 2027 with completion set for the fall of 2027. A detour will be in place while construction is underway.
