ILCC Unveiling Center Of Excellence For Veteran Student Success

(Emmetsburg)– Iowa Lakes Community College will host an open house for its Center of Excellence for Veteran Student success on the Emmetsburg Campus Friday morning. Veterans Center Director Tim Ireland says the facility has been upgraded…

“We got a grant from the Department of Education. Part of that grant money was to revamp our veteran centers or add veteran centers, so it’s all new furnishings. We got new cabinets, new desks, new computers, new couches and recliners and t.v., so that’s what we’re going to show off. We’re also going to talk about some of the things we do to try to help veterans.”

He adds that the public is welcome to stop by to see the updates…

“For anybody that wants to come in and look at the progress we’ve made on the veterans center, you’re welcome to come. It’s just kind of a come and go.”

Refreshments will be offered at the open house which will run from 9-11 a.m. November 3 at the Veterans Center, located at 3200 College Drive in Emmetsburg.
