(Estherville)– The board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College voted Tuesday to seek bids for replacing a road to access the Regional Emergency Response Training Center at the Emmetsburg campus. The project will be funded with $118,000 from the Parks and Institutional Road Fund through the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Trustees also voted to proceed in developing specifications, potential timelines and cost estimates on three other projects, including a swine facility for the farm laboratory; a student services center at the Emmetsburg campus and remodeling of the Sustainable Energy Education Center in the former Medieval Glass building in Estherville. The action doesn’t commit the college to the construction, but it does allow the college to pursue plan development and realistic cost estimates.
The next meeting of the Iowa Lakes Board of Trustees is April 17th in Emmetsburg. The day before, the trustees will gather in Pocahontas for a joint meeting with Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency 8 and members of the Iowa Central Board of Trustees.
