November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– The board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday at the college’s Emmetsburg campus.

Trustees gave the go-ahead for the college to participate in two projects at the Spencer soccer complex. They agreed to pay half the cost for a new scoreboard and half the cost of a press box at the facility.

Trustees also accepted a proposal to have an architect design a potential student services area at the Emmetsburg campus along with remodeling spaces that would be relocated with the new section of the building.

Trustees also decided to proceed with a tiling project at the college farm lab. They also learned that nearly $60,000 worth of chemicals, seed and fertilizer have been secured for the 2011 growing season.

Trustees also Tuesday decided to solicit bids for digital signing which will allow the college to place flat screen t.v. monitors at strategic locations at all campuses and administrative offices to keep students informed of activities and news alerts, along with weather and safety information.
