(Estherville)– Trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday gave the go-ahead to work with an engineering firm to design specificiations for an access road to the Emmetsburg Regional Emergency Response Training Center.
Trustees were also informed that all college employees have been educated about not using a hand-held communication device in college vehicles, and that the college is in compliance with Iowa law.
Trustees also set March 20th as the date for a public hearing on amending the 2012 fiscal year published budget.
Trustees Tuesday held a public hearing on the 2013 fiscal year published budget which shows a slight decrease in funds derived from taxes.
There was also a review of bids received for the college’s video conferencing project; they approved a proposal to refinance 2006 Dormitory Revenue Bonds to take advantage of lower interest rates; and the trustees authorized the submission of an application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s ACE Infrastructure program for the college’s Farm Lab facilities.
The trustees next meeting is set for Tuesday, March 20th on the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.
