(Estherville)– A former academic dean and science teacher at Spirit Lake High School has been hired as the regional STEM Hub Programmer for Iowa Lakes Community College. The college’s board of trustees Wednesday hired Kari Webb to the position of overseeing the regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics initiative.
Prior to coming to Iowa Lakes, Webb taught science at Spirit Lake High School for 10 years and more recently served as academic dean, a position she held since January, 2011.
Iowa Lakes Executive Dean of Instruction and Development Mark Gruwell says Webb’s vast expertise and enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and math made her an outstanding candidate for the position.
Webb’s primary office will be in the Science wing at the Estherville campus. She will also spend some time at the
Spencer campus.
