(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College’s board of trustees Tuesday gave permission to move forward with designing an eight-plex housing facility at the Estherville campus. The structure would house 32 to 40 students and would be located north of the four-plexes built in 2006.
Trustees also gave permission to advertise for bids to construct the “shell” of a Construction Technology facility at the Emmetsburg campus. The facility would house both a classroom and a lab. January 12th was set as the date to open bids on the project. THe project will be funded by Accelerated Career Education money.
Trustees also Tuesday authorized college President Valerie Newhouse to sign an agreement to sell the college’s Renewable Energy Credits for a three-year period starting in 2010. College officials say it will allow for funding of the development of other renewable energy projects at the college.
The board’s next meeting is set for Tuesday, December 15th in Estherville.
