(Estherville)– Trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday awarded a bid on the construction of a new student housing complex at the Estherville campus.
The project was awarded to Christensen Construction of Estherville, which submitted the low bid of $808,800. Construction of the six-plex building will be funded through a separate account made up of student housing fees.
Trustees also held a public hearing on the college’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. A news release says it includes what it describes as a “slight increase” in the levy. The budget totals 37.7 million dollars and reflects a 6.55 percent increase in property valuations in portions of the 13 counties covered by the college.
