(Algona)—The board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday approved employee salaries for the 2014 fiscal year along with the master contract of the Iowa Lakes Education Association. The proposal includes a salary increase of 1.33 percent. With insurance benefits added in the total package comes to 4.1 percent.
Trustees were also updated on various projects, including construction of a new swine facility expected to begin Monday; upgrades that are being made to Auto Tech, Farm Equipment and Welding labs at the Emmetsburg campus; and the installation of 30 geothermal wells for the Sustainable Energy Resource Technology building on the Estherville campus.
ILCC trustees also Tuesday approved an agreement with Upper Des Moines Opportunity for the use of a facility on the Emmetsburg campus for its Head Start program.
