ILCC Trustees Approve Tuition Increase

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Students at Iowa Lakes Community College will be paying more for tuition in the upcoming school year.

Meeting Tuesday in Spirit Lake, the college’s board of trustees approved an increase of eight dollars per credit hour, or about 6.6 percent, bringing tuition to 128-dollars per credit hour. Non-residents and international students will pay 130-dollars per credit hour. Minnesota residents receive a waiver of non-resident tuition through a reciprocity agreement. Some other fees were also adjusted to reflect needs of individual programs.

Trustees also approved an average 10 percent increase in rates at the Smith Wellness Center at the Emmetsburg campus.

Trustees were also updated on the college’s pandemic procedures; gave the go-ahead for a grant to be submitted for the Sustainable Energy Education Center in Estherville at an estimated cost of just under a million dollars; approved acquisition of a donated sub-station for the Wind Energy program; and they accepted the resignation of Jason McCloud as head wrestling coach and housing coordinator.
