ILCC Trustees Approve Purchase Of Plane & Apartment Building

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– The board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday awarded a contract for some heating, ventilation and air conditioning work to be done at the Emmetsburg campus.

The project was awarded to Gladbury Plumbing of Fort Dodge, the low bidder of slightly more than $175,000 for two projects.

Trustees also voted to proceed with the purchase of an apartment complex just east of the Emmetsburg campus. They approved some modified language in the purchase agreement and authorized college officials to proceed with the purchase. A news release didn’t mention a dollar amount of the transaction.

ILCC trustees also Tuesday approved the purchase of a light sport airplane that will be used to expand the college’s aviation program. The Cub Craftes Sport Cub S-2 was purchased for $100,000. It was valued at more than $120,000. Trustees accepted the appraisal and allowed the foundation to send documentation to the owner to receive a tax donation for the difference in the purchase price and value.
