(Estherville)– The next President at Iowa Lakes Community College is coming from within. The college’s board of trustees announced late today (Tues.) Scott Stokes has been hired to the position. Stokes currently serves as Executive Dean at the Estherville campus. He begins his new role this coming July 1st.
In a statement, Janice Lund, President of the ILCC board of trustees, said they were very impressed with Stokes’ “passion for the community college system and his shared values of the college.” Stokes played a critical role in helping Iowa Lakes secure a $1.6 million Title III Grant.
Stokes earned an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University. He also has a B.A. in Mathematics Education from the University of Northern Iowa and an A.A. Degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.
Stokes, along with his wife and three children, live in Estherville.
Stokes was selected following a nationwide search.
