(Estherville)– The TRIO program at Iowa Lakes Community College is getting a boost thanks to a federal grant of a little more than $348,000.
Trio is a federal program aimed at improving college retention and graduation rates among low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities. It provides academic tutoring, financial aid, scholarship guidance, career exploration, personal and academic counseling and mentoring services.
Officials at Iowa Lakes say their grant application received a perfect score.
