(Estherville)– Four students from Iowa Lakes Community College have been selected to participate in this year’s Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute.
They include Chayton VanMaasdam of Spirit Lake, a Business Administration major; Nate Samp of Algona, a Business Administration and Management major; Melissa Pope-Thongvanh of Sanaway, Washington, a Business Management student; and Alyssa Schroeder of Emmetsburg, an Accounting Specialist major.
The Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute will be held August 4th-9th. Participants attend educational seminars on entrepreneurship and work in teams to complete a computer simulation to start a company. Attendees also have a chance to network with some of the region’s finest entrepreneurs as well as earn college credits.
The Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute is a cooperative effort of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, the Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centers at the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa, as well as the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, Iowa Lakeside Lab, Buena Vista University and Iowa Lakes Community College.
