(Emmetsburg)– The recently completed Construction Technology Facility at the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes Community College will be officially unveiled to the public this Friday. An open house will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting to follow at about 9:45 a.m.
College officials say the 11,000 square foot facility was designed on the needs of the Construction Technology curriculum and suggestions from the program’s advisory board. It consists of two interactive classrooms; a lab for students to experience hands-on installation of cabinetry and finishing skills; a large laboratory space for pre-construction work and office space for instructors.
The facility was built utilizing specifications for ‘green’ buildings with high efficiency insualtion and geothermal heating and cooling.
The public is invited to attend Friday’s open house and ribbon cutting.
