(Estherville)– Enrollment records have once again been broken for the spring semester at Iowa Lakes Community College. Julie Williams, the college’s Dean of Students, says credit hours have climbed to 36,997, up slightly from a year ago. The student head count is at 4,208, an increase of 1.6 percent over the spring of 2010.
Williams attributes most of the increase to the increasing costs of regent institutions, along with the local economy. She says Iowa Lakes continues to play a vital role in re-training dislocated workers.
She says the most significant increase is in the arts and science ‘general’ course work.
