(Estherville)– The Performing Arts Department at Iowa Lakes Community College is gearing up for their next production. Director Lincoln Larsen says they’ll be putting on “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in April, with auditions getting underway next month…
“We’re going to be holding auditions from January twenty sixth through January twenty eighth, going from six to eight p m at the Performing Arts Center that is open to, uh, high school students all the way up to adults. We’re looking for a cast of at least four men and two women, and we’re happy to have as many people as want to come out and audition. We’re going to be able to find a spot for you without any trouble, whether that’s going to be on stage or, you know, we have plenty of set design that we got to do. There’s so many ways to be involved, and we encourage everybody that wants to come out and be a part of something bigger than themselves.”
Larsen says they look forward to bringing a classic to the stage…
“We’re really excited because you’re a good man. Charlie Brown is, you know, just such a classic comic strip by Charles Schulz, and everybody knows who it is. It’s so recognizable, and we’re happy that we’re able to bring it to Estherville and really just make sure that, you know, we capture the everyday life of everybody’s favorite blockhead, Charlie Brown.”
No experience is necessary to audition but if you want to sing a song they ask you to bring a back up track or sheet music that they can play for you. The auditions will be held on January 26, 27th and 28th from 6 to 8 pm at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center. The actual musical will happen April 16th through the 18th.
