(Estherville)– The Music Department at Iowa Lakes Community College will hold its annual holiday concert Sunday, December 8th at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center at the Estherville campus. Director Carol Ayres says it gets underway at 3:00 pm that afternoon…
“We’re going to have our college handbell group will be playing and the Lakes Area Community Handbell group will be playing. Then we have the band will be playing some holiday favorites and we’ll have some audience singalong carols and then a percussion ensemble that’s latin-based, which will be really fun, and just all kinds of variety of music. It will be a great afternoon.”
Ayres says the community handbell choir consists of members from throughout the region…
“Obviously our students but then the community bells go from as far as Humboldt and Spencer and Estherville and Spirit Lake and then we have a bass player coming from Mason City, so we’ve got lots of people joining in the fun.”
Admission for the concert is by a freewill donation at the door.
