ILCC Cuts Ribbon On New Video Conferencing System

(Spirit Lake)– Officials with Iowa Lakes Community College this (Wed.) morning unveiled the latest state-of-the-art tool in distance learning with a ribbon cutting on its $1.1 million video conferencing system. The system links each campus with nine area high schools.

Valerie Newhouse, President of Iowa Lakes Community College, addressed those attending the ribbon cutting in a broadcast from the Estherville campus. She says the new system goes a long way toward helping the college meet one of its major goals…(click here for comment.)

The system was financed in part through a $500,000 grant from the USDA Rural Development and its Rural Utilities Service Grant program, of which Bill Menner is State Director…(click here for comment.)

The system allows students and instructors at each campus and the participating high schools to directly see and visit with each other utilizing high definition cameras and monitors.
