Andera says this marks the second year for the Walleye Weekend grant program…
This year’s grant recipients include the Okoboji Protective Association which will receive $5,000 for upgrades to the fish barrier at the Lower Gar Outlet; the Spirit Lake Protective Association was awarded $5,0000 for a new dock at Templar Park; the East Okoboji Lakes Improvement Corporation received $4,000 for treatment was aquatic weeds; $3,000 was awarded to the Center Lake Protective Association for a lighting project at a boat ramp; and the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club is getting $3,000 for kids fishing clinics and youth fishing activities.
