(Undated)– The Iowa Great Lake Area Chamber of Commerce participated in this year’s Leap of Kindness Day by distributing donated items to Dickinson county schools. The chamber compiled a list of needed items after contacting the schools and solicited donations by challenging businesses, organizations and individuals. The items included things such as classroom snacks, winter gear, hygiene products, school supplies and more.
In addition to the physical items, more than $3,000 in cash donations were collected and allocated to help relieve “lunch-in-the-hole accounts” at the Okoboji and Spirit Lake schools.
Chamber officials thank everyone who donated toward the effort and urge everyone to continue to donate as the needs are constant.
