(Sibley)– Osceola county authorities still don’t know who was driving a vehicle involved in a rollover crash earlier this month that injured several passengers.
The Sheriff’s Office says it happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. back on October 5th on Tanager Avenue south of 120th Street. Deputies say the road was under construction at the time and was closed to through traffic. None-the-less, they say a GMC Jimmy was traveling northbound on the closed road when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the east shoulder, which was uncompleted, and rolled several times before coming to rest in the east ditch.
The driver fled the scene. Three passengers sustained non incapacitating injuries. 28-year-old Rosa Ramirez and 25-year-old Antonio Ramirez…both of Worthington…were taken to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. 34-year-old Alvina Ramos of Worthington was taken to Sanford Hospital in Worthington. A fourth passenger was uninjured.
Deputies say none of the passengers knew the driver.
The vehicle, owned by Noe Ceballos of Huron, South Dakota, was totaled.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Ocheyedan Fire and Rescue and the Ocheyedan and Sibley ambulances and paramedics.
