(Sherburn, Mn.)– Authorities say one person was injured Saturday evening when a westbound semi left the road on Interstate 90 near Sherburn and traveled through a corn field before coming to rest on a steep embankment.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Abdelhalim Daoudi of Baltimore, Maryland was driving a 2010 Freightliner pulling a 2010 Vanguard trailer when he lost control, causing the rig to go off the road.
A passenger riding in the rig’s sleeper, 44-year-old Moises Concalves of Clearwater, Florida, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Fairmont hospital.
No injuries were reported to Daoudi or another passenger in the rig.
Minor damage was reported to the semi tractor and trailer.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place shortly before 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
