November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)—A traffic stop Wednesday on Highway 9 east of Spirit Lake resulted in deputies turning up more than a half pound of marijuana and landed three Storm Lake men in jail.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over the vehicle for a traffic violation. A subsequent search resulted in deputies finding cash and what’s alleged to be marijuana.

26-year-old Meng Thao was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana, a drug tax stamp violation, failure to have a valid driver’s license and excessive speed.

19-year-old Justin Fang and 26-year-old Kong Xiong were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana and a drug tax stamp violation.

All three were booked into the Dickinson county jail and were later released after posting a $5,000 bond.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
