(Superior)—A two-vehicle collision Friday on Highway 9 near the Dickinson-Emmet county line sent one person to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says it involved a 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by 34-year-old Isaac Hoff of Spirit Lake and a 2012 Ford Focus driven by 50-year-old Robin Lock of Emmetsburg. Authorities say both vehicles were eastbound when Hoff collided with the rear of the one driven by Lock, who had slowed to make a left hand turn onto County Road N-22, or 340th Avenue.
Lock sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. No injuries were reported to Hoff, who was cited for following too close.
$4,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Hoff; $9,000 in damage was estimated to the one driven by Lock.
The collision took place shortly after 5:00 p.m.
