Hwy 86 Crash Sends One Person To LRH

(Milford)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday evening on Highway 86 near Treasure Village on the southwest side of West Lake Okoboji sent one person to the hospital and resulted in possible injuries to another.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Bonni Herpst of Minneapolis was driving a 2005 Buick southbound when it was struck in the rear by a 2010 Buick driven by 23-year-old Elissa Ripperger of Spencer.

Herpst was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with possible injuries. Ripperger sustained possible injuries but wasn’t transported.

Both vehicles were totaled.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Milford and Okoboji Police Departments, the Iowa State Patrol, Milford Fire and Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.

The crash took place shortly before 6:30 p.m.
