September 17, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Brewster, Mn.)– Two people were seriously injured Friday when a car collided with a semi on Highway 60 near Brewster.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 20-year-old Edvin Sandoval of Saint James was driving a 2010 Saab eastbound when he collided with a 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by 65-year-old Shawn Munns of Hawarden. Reports from the scene indicated the car was wedged under the semi’s tanker trailer.

Sandoval and a passenger in his vehicle, 18-year-old Hugo Sandoval, were transported from the scene by medical helicopters with life threatening injuries.

The collision took place around 12:30 pm.
