(Arnolds Park)– An investigation in underway into a hunting accident this (Saturday) morning at the Spring Run Wildlife Management Area. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident around 8:17 am. A press release from the Iowa DNR says the victim sustained a gunshot wound while waterfowl hunting with friends.
The victim was located in the Wildlife Management Area and was airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. The victim’s name and condition information haven’t been made available.
The Iowa DNR, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Police Department, Arnolds Park-Okoboji and Milford Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare all responded to the scene.
The public is being asked to stay away from the area of 210th Street and 240th Avenue as investigators continue their work.
