(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county farmers and others impacted by what they say was a miscalculation of Agriculture Risk Coverage, or ARC payments in 2024, attended an informational and awareness meeting this (Tues.) morning in Spirit Lake. Kevin Range, a Dickinson county farmer who was among those who organized the session, tells KUOO news their goal was to further raise awareness into the issue and the negative impact it’s having on the local farm economy…
Range says they are getting some indications the message is getting through to Washington, D.C…
And Range says that while the message is starting to resonate, its critical those being impacted continue to press lawmakers…
The keynote speakers at today’s (Tues.) meeting said their intent wasn’t to try to pin blame on anyone, but to get some answers and get the problem fixed.
