HPAI Again Confirmed In NW Iowa

March 05, 2026

(Undated) — A sixth case of bird flu is being reported in Iowa.

A backyard flock in Buena Vista County has been diagnosed with the highly pathogenic avian influenza, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

While the CDC believes the threat to the general public remains low, bird flu can be fatal to domestic birds such as chickens and turkeys.
