Housing Assessment To Be Conducted In Estherville

(Estherville)– A local community is about to launch an assessment into its current and future housing needs.

The Estherville Housing Committee was formed through the EXCEL! Estherville initiative. Using funds provided through the initiative, a professional team has been hired to conduct the study. Members of the team will be in Estherville Monday and Tuesday, June 15th and 16th to meet with various community representatives.

The schedule for June 15th includes a tour of the community beginning at 10:00 a.m.; a lunch with project sponsors from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m.; and meetings with realtors and property managers at 1:30 p.m. followed by a meeting with builders and developers at 3:00 p.m.

The schedule for June 16th includes meetings with major employers from 7:30 until 9:00 a.m.; a meeting with financial organizations at 9:00 a.m.; public and community organizations at 10:30 a.m. and a lunch and discussion with project sponsors.

All of the meetings, with the exception of the noon lunches, will be held in the council chambers at the Estherville City Hall.
