(George)– A house fire earlier this week in George sent one person to the hospital. Firefighters from George and Little Rock were called a little before 5:00 pm Tuesday to 102 East Calumet in George after getting a report of a kitchen fire. They encountered smoke coming from the windows and a side door. Firefighters entered the house and quickly knocked down the fire.
Officials say one person was in the home at the time and was taken by private vehicle to a hospital for treatment of possible burns and smoke inhalation.
The cause was believed to have been an electrical malfunction in a ceiling light fixture.
The house was declared a total loss.
