It’s a holiday extravaganza in Estherville tonight. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
(Estherville)-The Estherville Chamber will host Holiday in The Ville Thursday evening.
Executive Director Lexie Ruter says, the event combines the popular Chocolate Walk and Parade of Lights. “We’re really excited to have combined our two events into one really big holiday extravaganza. We will be having the Chocolate Walk from 4 to 7 pm. It’s a great time to get out and get your Christmas shopping started. There’s lots of sales, there’s chocolate goodies in all the stores. We’re having free, horse-drawn wagon rides through downtown from 5 to 6:30 pm, and Estherville, if you’re familiar with our downtown at all at the holiday season, we really go all out. It’s beautiful. Everything is all lit up, and new this year, we have a big, giant Christmas tree in Library Square.”
She notes that the evening culminates with The Parade of Lights. “We have the parade starting at 7. That’s going to run from 13th Street to 5th Street on Central Avenue. We’ve got a lot of really great floats this year. Following that parade, we will have Santa in Library Square and he, along with all the children gathered, will use the magic of Christmas to light up the Square, including that new, big, giant Christmas tree. It’s going to be just a really magical evening, a really fun way to kick off the holidays and we hope everyone comes out and joins us.”
