(Des Moines)—The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Community School District has won first place honors in a video contest held as part of the Governor’s Bullying Prevention Summit. The H-M-S school district will receive a $500 prize along with a visit from Governor Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds.
The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn video received nearly 37,000 views.
Second place went to Lisbon Community Schools, which had 28,000 views. It will receive $350. Central Lee Middle School of Donnellson was third with over 25,000 views, good for a $150 cash prize.
Department of Education Director Jason Glass announced the winners during the afternoon session of the Governor’s Bullying Prevention Summit held today (Tues.) in Des Moines.
The winners were determined by the number of views online.
A total of 23 videos were submitted.
