Highway Nine Incident Results In Attempted Murder Charge Against SL Man

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– An alleged incident this past weekend on Highway Nine east of Spirit Lake has landed a Spirit Lake man in jail on several charges, including attempted murder.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was eastboundon Highway nine when he noticed a vehicle in front of him driven by 24-year-old Travis Kramme of Spirit Lake swerve into the westbound lane in an attempt to hit an oncoming semi head-on. Authorities say a passenger in Kramme’s vehicle, who wasn’t identified, grabbed the steering wheel, avoiding a collision with the semi.

The deputy then pulled over Kramme and placed him under arrest. He was charged with attempted murder, operating while intoxicated…second offense, driving without a valid license and open container.

Kramme was booked into the Dickinson county jail on a 27-thousand dollar bond.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
