(Windom, Mn.)– Strong wind is literally blowing semis off the road in southwest Minnesota this (Thursday) morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says one of the incidents took place a little after 8:00 am on Highway 71 north of Windom when a gust of wind blew a 2016 International semi tractor and trailer onto its side as it was being driven northbound. The driver, 32-year-old Rashad Brown of Port Richey, Florida, was taken to the Windom hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Another semi was blown off the road onto its side on Highway 71 near mile marker 25, about two miles south of the Jackson-Cottonwood county line. That incident took place a little before 10:00 am this (Thursday) morning. No injuries were reported there.

A South Dakota man was injured when a semi he was driving was blown off the road early this (Thursday) afternoon on Highway 71 north of Windom. The Minnesota State Patrol says 50-year-old Yolanda Qualls of Huron, South Dakota was driving a 2020 Semi tractor/trailer southbound when the strong crosswind blew the rig over onto its side. Qualls was taken by ambulance to the Windom hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No injuries were reported when strong wind blew a truck over on Highway 60 earlier today (Thursday) near Bigelow, Minnesota.

High wind also flipped over a boat hoist this morning as it was being pulled southbound of Highway 71 just south of Arrowwood in Okoboji. That incident took place around 8:00 am.
