(Undated)– The heat could turn dangerous as we head through the next couple of days. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for northwest Iowa from 2:00 this (Wed.) afternoon until 8:00 pm this (Wed.) evening. Forecasters say the heat index, or what it feels like with the humidity added in, could be as high as 103 degrees during that time frame.
Health experts say it’s important to drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, stay in an air-conditioned environment and to keep out of the sun. Those working outdoors should take additional precautions, including frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Do not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles and check in on relatives and neighbors.
