Heartland Honor Choir Concert To Be Held This Thursday At Iowa Lakes Community College

October 13, 2025

(Estherville)– 180 singers will be on hand for the 11th annual Heartland Honor Choir Concert this Thursday, October 16th, at 6:00 pm at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center at the Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. Iowa Lakes Community College Choir Director Brett Fuelberth talks about the make-up of the choir…

“This year we have 12 different schools, so that’s the most we’ve ever had, and so we form a choir of almost 200 people along with our college singers joining them. It’s very cool to see what kind of sound a choir of 200 can make. And then also, just like joining forces, that’s something music can do. You can join together and do this, so getting all of these singers together. Many of them haven’t sung in a choir this big before so it creates quite the sound.”

Fuelberth says it will be a fun concert…

“There’s just a variety of just fun music that you’re going to hear at this. We’ve got Bob Dylan’s Times They Are A Changin’ as well as we have a South African piece you’ll be tapping for foot to and we’ll be clapping and moving on stage, and then we’ve also got our men’s ensemble and jazz singers that are going to be singing some songs. So yeah, it will be a fun concert.”

The concert is on Thursday, October 16th, at 6:00 pm at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center and tickets are just five dollars. For more information you can contact the Iowa Lakes Music Department at 712-362-7963.
