(Meriden)– A head-on crash Sunday on Highway three near Meriden in Cherokee county has claimed the life of a Sutherland man.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says the collision involved a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by 64-year-old Donna Fuller of Sutherland and a 2005 Ford van driven by 55-year-old Marlene Ebert of Marcus.
A passenger in the vehicle driven by Fuller, 78-year-old Raymond Fuller of Sutherland, had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Donna Fuller and Ebert were both taken by ambulance to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee with incapacitating injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Authorities say Donna Fuller was westbound when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with the vehicle driven by Ebert.
Officials say the road was snow-covered at the time.
The crash remains under investigation.
It happened shortly after 6:00 a.m.
